Fall Trend: Metallic Polish

Any time Chanel comes out with a new nail polish, it is destined to be the next big thing in nail polish colors. And this season (Fall 2011), it's graphite. A beautiful metallic sparkly polish that glitters in the light. It's beautiful! Look at this:

Under The Apple Tree: White Denim Cut-offs

I love the way white shorts makes you look. It definitely ups the class factor a notch or two, but the laid back cool of the frayed denim keeps this look unfussy. I paired my cut-offs with a grey tank, and white gladiator sandals to keep it easy.

Bar Exam--Done!!!

Ugh! I just took the Indiana Bar Exam & I am worn out! I took it at the Indy Convention Center. It is a 2 day exam: the first day is 7 hours of writing, and the second day is 6 hours of multiple choice. Talk about Exhausting!!! It's pretty much a top secret ordeal and electronics of any kind are not allowed in the testing facility. But, here are some pictures of the other parts of my day, the room (taken a couple weeks before), and pictures from after the exam finished--all outside the testing facility:

Bar Exam Day 1

I'm half way thru the bar exam...ugh! .... Can't wait until it's over! Wish me luck!

Indy Weekender: Smokehouse On Shelby

This weekend I went to the Smokehouse on Shelby in the Fountain Square district of Indianapolis. It was so cute inside & it had the best pulled pork ever!!! (Which is saying a lot since I've even eaten at Slow's BBQ in Detroit, MI) I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was served "correctly" with sauce on the side (aka.--slow cooked without sauce). Recipe: Broccoli Co-slaw

I know veggies are important, so, I try to find new & fun ways to get more into my diet. I love the broccoli co-slaw at my local grocer's deli, but it's so expensive. So, here is a delicious recipe I created to fix my cravings on a much cheaper budget:


Broccoli Co-Slaw Consistency

Ingredients:
1 head broccoli (chopped into little pieces) (you can use the stalk hearts, too, if you like)
1 red onion (chopped)
1/4c peanuts
1/4c raisins
2T fat free plain yogurt
2T light mayo
Juice from 1/4 of a lemon (Strained)
1-2T honey
3 slices bacon (crumbled)
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Throw all ingredients into a bowl and stir until everything is well incorperated. Serve as a side or eat for a snack. Serves about 4....or 2 hungry bloggers.

Indy Weekender: The Canal

Last weekend I took a walk on the Indianapolis Canal. At the end was a little brown cottage-like building, a restaurant called Creation Cafe. At the cafe I grabbed a beer, watched the gondola's with Parisian-esque workers go by, and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Indianapolis skyline. Here are my pictures from the walk:
